There are two jetties at Kenyir Lake. The main jetty is Pengkalan Gawi and the other option is Jenagor Jetty (mostly for houseboat). The distance from Kuala Terengganu to Pengkalan Gawi is approximately 80 km. If you are from Kuala Lumpur, please take Karak Highway to Jerangau Jabor Highway and proceed to Ajil to reach Kuala Berang town and onwards to Kenyir. Or you may take the alternative journey along coastal road through Kemaman, Dungun, Kuala Terengganu and through Kuala Berang to Kenyir Lake. The daily express buses from Hentian Putra Terminal (nearby PWTC) in Kuala Lumpur also provide the service. There is bus express namely Express Tasik Kenyir, which travels directly to Kenyir Lake (last stop at Pengkalan Gawi).
By Land By Land (Driving) * Kuala Lumpur to Kenyir Lake (approx. 4.5 hours drive) :
- Highway 3 Kuala Terengganu (Gemuruh) exit turn left and drive straight to Sungai Tong -Until meet T- Junction and go left to Pengkalan Gawi, Kenyir Lake By Bus You may board a night coach which depart from Kuala Lumpur (6-7 hours), Singapore (9.5 hours), Johor Bharu (9 hours), Penang (8 hours), etc. and arrive Kuala Terengganu Bus Terminal around 6.00am the next morning, Ping Anchorage's driver will meet you once you arrive and transfer you to Jetty, then by boat to lake. Kuala Lumpur (Terminal Bersepadu Selatan -TBS) | Johor Bharu (Larkin Station) | Penang (Komtar) The Tasik Kenyir Express departs daily at 8:00pm from Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS) in Kuala Lumpur (09:00am and 21:00pm) to Tasik Kenyir via Al Muktafi Billah Shah Town and Kuala Berang. Fares for all destinations:
